About us

Hello!
My name is Zuzana, and I warmly welcome you to my online shop, filled with the vibrant essence of traditional Africa! My journey, however, is a little unconventional. Since 2006, Nigeria has been my second home. It's where my husband comes from, and it's a place we regularly return to with our family. Today, we are surrounded by the joyful chaos of our three children, who are lucky enough to grow up embracing both of their cultures and seeing the world from different perspectives.
I have always wanted to do something meaningful. And as we move between these two worlds, we have quite literally stitched a plan through thousands of stitches in our beautiful fabrics. In Africa, we source these fabrics, known as Ankara or Wax Print, from market women, often mothers for whom this is their only source of income. I love the idea that my business not only sells beautiful things but also connects and empowers people.
This website is a very personal space for me. Here, I share my view of life in Nigeria, through colours, fabrics, stories, and the small moments that connect me with African culture. It's not always just beautiful and colourful, but it's real life seen from a different perspective, one that has taught me a lot. I want everyone who visits to catch a glimpse of the world that inspires me so deeply.
" Check out what we offer from these amazing fabrics, or sew your dream piece yourself.
💛About Ada nne
The Ada nne brand was born from a powerful family story, deep love, and the desire to connect two distant cultures - Czech and Nigerian.
How the Name Originated
It all began in 2021 when our daughter, Ada, was born. When my husband, originally from Nigeria, first saw her, he affectionately called her "nne." In the Igbo language, this word means 'mother.' Although Ada was just our tiny baby, she carried the same spark in her eyes as his late mother, and so this deeply loving address remained.
As Ada and our two boys grew, they learned to speak bilingually right from the start. What began as an innocent language game became a family rule: Ada doesn't call her dad 'tati' or 'daddy,' but rather "nne" - the same way he addresses her. (For clarity: "nne" is not pronounced like "enay," but rather with a long, guttural "n" sound, typical of the Igbo language.)
From this beautiful, love-woven confusion, which carries remembrance, humour, and an unbreakable bond, the name Ada nne was born - Daughter (Ada) and Mother (Nne).
Cultural Connection and Our Mission
Today, Ada nne is my personal project, my e-shop, and a matter of the heart. I sell authentic African fabrics that carry the vibrant message and richness of Nigerian culture into the Czech Republic.
I believe that every meter of fabric is more than just material. Every pattern holds a deep, often generations-proven meaning, and every single piece tells its unique story.
We invite you to step into the world of colours, patterns, and connection, where the heart of Europe meets the soul of Africa.
