What Filling Do We Use for Our Pillows and Yoga Bolsters?

Our pillows and yoga bolsters are 100% natural, including the filling. One of the materials we use is Kapok fiber. Have you heard of Kapok, also known as Ceiba pentandra?

The Kapok tree is one of the tallest trees in Central and South America as well as West Africa, reaching heights of up to 70 meters. It has massive trunks that can grow to impressive sizes, along with tall, straight stems. Its extensive root system helps the tree remain stable and absorb nutrients from deep layers of soil. The Kapok tree produces large white or pink flowers that bloom at night. Its fruits are elongated pods containing seeds surrounded by a soft, lightweight fiber known as Kapok.

Kapok Fiber and Maintenance

Our pillows and yoga bolsters are completely natural and biodegradable. Kapok fiber is extremely lightweight and has a very low density, making it one of the lightest natural fibers in the world. Thanks to its lightness and air pockets, it is used in life jackets and for thermal insulation. It is also hypoallergenic, making it safe for people with allergies or sensitive skin.

If you're wondering whether kapok requires special VIP care, don't worry – just follow these simple tricks:

✅ No washing machine! Kapok doesn't like water, so avoid washing it.

✅ Sun or freezer? Why not! Want to get rid of dust mites? Place the pillow in direct sunlight for a few hours or put it in a plastic bag and leave it in the freezer for a few hours.

✅ Stains? No problem! Just use a damp cloth and a mild detergent – just be careful not to soak the kapok too much!

✅ Practical cover – all our pillows have removable covers that can be easily washed separately.
